Tips for More Efficient Heating
You don’t need a meteorologist to point out that our winter weather can get very cold around here. What you may need help with, however, is cutting down on your heating costs. We’ve got a few tips in today’s post to help you do just that. There are a lot of ways in which to enjoy more efficient heating in Boulder, CO, of course. We’re going to be focusing exclusively on simple and affordable options today, though. Everybody knows that investing in new, efficient equipment is an option, but it’s not one that everyone can afford.
Keep the following information in mind, and do not hesitate to contact a member of our team if you have
any questions or concerns about your heater or its overall efficiency. We cannot magically make your heater work at a higher efficiency level than it is capable of, obviously, but we can help to ensure that you get the most efficient performance that your heater has to offer. You deserve to live comfortably without draining your bank account over the course of the winter, after all.
Use Your Curtains Wisely!
Seriously? Curtains? Yes, that’s right: curtains! It may sound strange if you’ve never really thought about it, but using your curtains in the right way can really help you to cut back on your heating costs. During the daytime, draw those curtains back in order to allow the sun’s rays to provide some free thermal energy throughout your home. Once that sun goes down, you need only draw your curtains shut in order to trapt that heat in your home.
Be sure to spend a bit of money on good, heavy curtains in order to make the most of them, too. You don’t want very thin ones that are going to underperform for you. You can even find curtains designed for the specific purpose of helping to make your home energy efficient!
Keep Those Ceiling Fans Running!
With one caveat: reverse their direction so that you’re using them on the winter setting. During the winter, your ceiling fans should be running in a clockwise direction. This helps them to force heated air that has risen to the ceiling (as hot air will naturally do) back down into the living space. All that you need to do to change from summer to winter settings is flick a switch located on the fixture itself.
There is no getting around it. The best thing that you can do for your HVAC system, in terms of efficiency and everything else, is to schedule routine maintenance. You’ve seen us say it time and time again if you’ve read this blog before, but some things really bear repeating. Schedule Maintenance!
We offer a routine maintenance program that provides some great benefits to our clients. Why? Because we know that happy clients are repeat clients. By taking the burden of scheduling maintenance off of your hands, we can ensure that you enjoy the best that your system has to offer in the most convenient manner possible.
