Looking for an exact estimate for your panel replacement?
Just schedule a free estimate with Cooper. We’ll send over an experienced electrician to calculate the electrical load of your home. From there, we’ll provide you with panel replacement options and a no-obligation installation estimate for each.
The size of the panel. The higher the panel’s “amperage,” the more expensive the replacement. Most homes today need a 100-amp or 200-amp panel but this is all determined by the home’s electrical load. Our electrician will always measure your home’s electrical load first to determine your new panel will be properly sized.
Whether or not a whole-home rewiring is needed. If you upgrade your panel size, there’s a good chance that the electrical wiring throughout your home will also need to be upgraded. If a whole-home rewiring is needed, this will increase the cost of the project. Our electricians are always upfront about extra requirements like rewiring and will let you know if this is needed for your panel replacement project.
Whether it’s overhead or underground service. Your home gets its electrical power from utility service lines. Typically, if you have overhead service lines, your panel upgrade will cost more than if you have underground service lines (unless trenching is required). That’s because a panel replacement project with overhead service line changes requires more time and labor.
Adding outlets. If you want to add more outlets throughout your home, or if your home is outdated and requires more outlets to meet code regulations, this will add to the overall project cost. Our electricians know Colorado codes like the back of their hand so they will inspect your home and help you determine whether more outlets are truly needed or not.
