Two pipes run underground on your property and connect to your home: your water line and your sewer line. These two lines are the most important in your entire plumbing system. The water line transports all water from your well or water main into your home. The sewer line transports all wastewater out to the septic tank or sewer main.

If either of these two lines runs into a problem, it will affect your entire plumbing system. Prior to the invention of trenchless technology, the only way to fix an issue with one of these pipes was to dig a massive trench to reach them. Fortunately, that is no longer the case. Cooper Heating & Cooling, Inc. offers trenchless technology services throughout Denver, CO and Colorado Springs, CO. If you need trenchless services of any kind, we are here for you. Call today to schedule an appointment with our Denver plumbers.

What is Trenchless Technology?

Trenchless technology is actually adapted from techniques used in mining. It’s also referred to as “no–dig” technology, although this is a bit of a misnomer. Instead of digging a trench, two pits are dug at opposite ends of the pipe section that needs servicing.

The pipe is severed at either end, so that the section may be removed. A machine then pushes the pipe section from one end and out of the other. If the pipe needs repair, it can be patched and then replaced the same way. If the pipe needs to be replaced, a new pipe can be laid at the same time that the old one is being removed.

The Benefits of Trenchless Technology

There is a myriad of benefits to trenchless technology. As mentioned above, the standard technique prior to the invention of trenchless technology was to simply dig up the entire pipe. This took quite a bit longer, as more ground had to be removed. It was also much more destructive and often resulted in hundreds or even thousands of extra dollars needing to be spent on landscaping.

Trenchless technology offers all of the advantages of that style of repair/replacement, with none of the disadvantages. Trenchless sewer line replacement and related services can be conducted without having to worry about fixing the surrounding area afterward. It’s faster, often cheaper, and still keeps your water and sewer lines in the best possible shape. This is why you should always go for trenchless pipe relining or repair, when possible.
